Welcome
Welcome to the North Jersey Chapter of the IIA, an affiliate chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. The mission of our Chapter is to dynamically promote the internal audit profession and serve our members by providing value-added educational and networking opportunities.
Our Chapter was chartered in 1952, and today we have approximately 1,000 members. The strength of our Chapter resides with our volunteers who support the execution of our strategies through active participation on one or more of our committees. Mission
The mission of our Chapter is to dynamically promote the internal audit profession and serve our members by providing value-added educational and networking opportunities. Our objectives are as follows:
- Membership & Certifications - Focus on Growing our Membership and Promoting Certifications
- Academic Relations - Build Awareness with Students and Educators on Internal Audit as a Career
- Reaching Out - Connect Members, Chief Audit Executives, and Volunteers
- Seminars & Programs - Provide Value-add Continuing Education Programs
In addition, we are pleased to continue to offer some of the most cost-effective educational opportunities (both onsite and via webinars) for auditing professionals covering a vast array of topics. Building Awareness Champions
We are pleased to be a 2023 Building Awareness Champion!
During Internal Audit Awareness Month in May, we shared our passion for internal auditing, promoting the profession through a variety of events and campaigns designed to inform and engage, raise awareness, and help stakeholders understand the value of internal audit in their organizations.

Thank you for being a valued member of the IIA North Jersey Chapter.
It’s a great honor to serve you as your incoming president. Our chapter is committed to providing opportunities for learning, career growth and networking through various channels, such as local, cross-chapter and partnering events, seminars, CAE roundtables, certification trainings, and student member engagements.
This past year was a very successful year for our Chapter. We provided our membership with a series of local virtual seminars, Chief Audit Executive roundtable discussions, student membership events at local universities, and a membership meeting and networking event at the Top Golf facility in Edison, NJ. Also, as part of our academic relations initiatives, we continue to partner with several universities and provide educational and networking opportunities for our student members to participate in chapter events.
I would like to thank our outgoing president, Suni Zarro, and the 2021-2022 Chapter Officers, Board of Governors, and Volunteers for their outstanding contributions this past year, and welcome our new officers, board members and volunteers for the upcoming year.
We look forward to another successful year for our Chapter!

The Chapter Achievement Program (CAP) is an achievement and recognition program for chapters that uses points to recognize chapter activities that align with the North American Strategic Plan in the following categories: Service to Members, Service to the Profession and Chapter Governance. The Program helps to set standards of performance and is a means to evaluate chapter success.
IIA North Jersey Chapter is a 2022 Gold Chapter and a 2022 Chapter of Excellence.
